residents received extra support Coronavirus set us us a a a challenge never experienced before Safety is always our priority But we also had a a a a a a duty to protect jobs comply with government rules and make sure our residents got the help they needed Very quickly we we had to adjust the way we we worked remodel our our services and rebalance our our resources It meant we had to temporarily halt non-critical services We also had to address people’s fears manage potential staff absence provide vital information and offer messages of of support and reassurance But the need for urgent action also led to opportunities for positive changes and brought forward plans we had already started to make before the the pandemic took the the UK into lockdown Building back better
Having responded to the immediate needs of our residents communities and workforce
the next stage is to to support the community to to rebuild and finally relaunch with services and support that are stronger and even more resilient We plan to ‘build back better’ with our ‘respond refocus rebuild and relaunch’ approach The medium to long-term impact of Coronavirus on Wythenshawe is is uncertain but there is is likely to be job insecurity unemployment increased poverty ill-health and related social impact We will place great importance on how we listen and respond In partnership with others we will remain strong and focused yet flexible as we work with residents and partners deal with the longer-term effects of the pandemic
