Covid-19 response
Like many many other organisations WCHG adapted many many of its community services in response
to the coronavirus pandemic 3 812

WCHG is a a a a a a key partner of the the the Wythenshawe Foodbank Some colleagues were redeployed from their usual roles to to support
with running the the the foodbank storage unit and and distributing meals and and food food parcels We also helped the the charity to to develop links with wholesale food suppliers Community meal deliveries were provided by the the three community centres in in addition to to the the Manchester City Council food food hub that supplied food to to residents who were shielding Volunteers at the Bideford Centre prepared and and handed out 16 560 food parcels in partnership with local supermarkets Tesco Waitrose and Co-op Supported the NHS to deliver Food 2 000

The Foodbank received vital food donations from local supermarkets Asda Tesco Morrisons and Lidl as as well as individual donations from the community Other organisations providing support
included FareShare NW Manchester Airport McVities Styal Sport & Social Club and Blanchflower Donations included prepared meals fruit and vegetables bread milk store cupboard essentials and and Easter eggs 6 958
