Young Stars Shine Bright at Wythenshawe Live

Wythenshawe Live Night lit up the Forum Library on Friday 22nd March – and our brilliant young musicians stole the show!

Eight rising stars from our Youth sessions performed original songs and group covers in front of a buzzing crowd. From soulful soloists to a full band, every act was supported by the Rhythm Revolution music studio and bursary scheme.

Run from the Woodhouse Park Lifestyle Centre, Rhythm Revolution is more than just a music studio – it’s a safe, creative space where young people can build confidence, try new things, and feel part of something.

Since opening in August 2024, the studio’s helped young musicians get essential kit like left-handed guitars, amps, mics, and drum kits – all thanks to the WCHG Youth Bursary. Weekly youth sessions are led by Music Coach Leon and Youth Worker Janet, who also offer 1-2-1 support on Wednesdays.

Samantha Maunder, our Neighbourhood Youth Manager, said: “We’ve got so much talent in Wythenshawe, and it’s brilliant to give young people a space they feel proud of and comfortable in. They’re learning new skills every week and who knows where that could lead!”

Wythenshawe Live Night showed just how much potential we’ve got in our community. And this is just the start. The studio is growing, and we’re excited to see where it takes us next.

Know someone aged 11–19 who’s into music and wants to join in? Our Youth team would love to hear from you! Drop them an email at YouthInvolvement@wchg.org.uk.
