Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG) are proud to announce they have purchased 10 new properties for Shared Ownership in South Manchester.
The properties are located on the site of the former Portway Pub & Hotel in the Woodhouse Park area of Wythenshawe and work was completed in July 2021 with contracts being exchanged in May 2021, at this ideal location that has great transport links to Manchester.
These new homes will provide 7 x 3-bedroom houses and 3 x 2-bedroom flats which will be delivered in partnership with Garden City Homes and the scheme has a total value of £2,226,014 with Homes England funding of £350,000.
WCHG Executive Director of Development Andrea Lowman said, “Creating more homes is one of our key strategic pillars and central to our new corporate plan and aim to deliver 1000 new homes over the next 5 years. In order to meet this demand, we have to look at the variety of different opportunities that are available to us and I’m delighted that we have been able to purchase these new homes at Portway, which look fantastic and are built to a very high specification and will help provide more shared ownership opportunities here in Wythenshawe”.
