WCHG colleagues support local Farm
Colleagues at Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG) have helped to raise £1000 for the Community Farm based in Wythenshawe Park.
Every year WCHG colleagues pick a local charity to support and hold a monthly dress down day to raise the money for the chosen charity.
Based in the beautiful setting of Wythenshawe Park, Wythenshawe Community Farm offers children a chance to learn about where food comes from and has all the elements of a working countryside farm in an urban setting.
From offering visitors the opportunity to ‘meet’ the animals, which includes prize winning Hereford cows, sheep, goats, pigs, ducks and horses. They also run a local farm shop, where they sell a range of locally produced food including meat, seasonal vegetables and eggs from the hens on site.
Jane Clinton from Wythenshawe Farm said, “On behalf of everyone at the Farm I would like to thank all the staff at WCHG for this donation. We are so grateful that we were chosen and for the Housing Group’s ongoing support. The money will go towards the upkeep of our new Farm shop and helping to maintain the farm over the next year. “
WCHG Group Chief Executive Nigel Wilson said, “This is a fantastic effort from all colleagues at WCHG and we are delighted to show our support for the farm, which is a great community initiative and is well worth a visit. “
