The Real Food Kitchen launched in Wythenshawe Market!

The Real Food team has launched their very own demonstration kitchen in the indoor market in Wythenshawe town centre.

In a ‘cook off’ with Nigel Wilson, Group Chief Executive of Wythenshawe Community Housing Group, the Real Food Team cooked up a storm at the launch.

The kitchen will be regularly used by the team for cookery demonstrations and taster sessions and is available for use by health professionals who have health and wellbeing messages to promote.  Contact Pam Moran for further details on 0161 946 9167.

Their recipes are already creating a bit of a stir – and the market is handy for picking up good quality ingredients too!

Here is what a few people had to say:

Jan Wilson, Sharston:

“The food is amazing.  I tried their frittata last week and it was delicious.  I’ve just picked up the recipe for Jacqueline’s famous dahl and I’m going to get the ingredients from the market while I’m here.  It was really tasty and quite simple really!”

Tim Nicholls, local Methodist minister and Chair of The Jonah Group:

“This is an excellent project.  We’ve been working with the Real Food team on food poverty and raising awareness of healthier lifestyles, so this kitchen is an excellent idea”.

Rob Jones, Assistant Store Manager of Aldi in Baguley:

“We have worked with the Real Food team to provide local people with some of the ingredients to go with their excellent, healthy recipes.  It’s a great partnership and has been very well received.”

Lesley Benyon, tenant, Wythenshawe:

“I’ve just tried the meat balls and picked up the recipe.  I will definitely have a go at making those.  This is such a great idea – I’m really looking forward to watching more demonstrations and trying the recipes!”
