New Homes for Wythenshawe
Work has now finished on the first phase of Parkway Green's 'New Foxfield' site in Newall Green.
This is Parkway Green's largest development to date with the creation of 68 new affordable homes for Wythenshawe, built by Altrincham-based affordable housing specialist Lovell. The first phase was officially opened by Wythenshawe Community Housing Group's Chair Eddy Newman and Chief Executive, Nigel Wilson.
The scheme will provide a mix of housing stock to cater for families as well as older customers looking to downsize and free up family homes. The HCA invested £1.7m in the development as part of its Affordable Homes Programme.
From the 1st of April, Parkway Green and Willow Park Housing Trusts joined forces to create Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG). The new group is responsible for almost 14,000 homes across Wythenshawe and provide employment to over 500 people.
Chief Executive Nigel Wilson said, "I'm delighted the first phase of homes at 'New Foxfield' has now been completed as it's one of the first major milestones for Wythenshawe Community Housing Group. These new homes will leave a lasting legacy on the local community and provide more affordable social housing in Wythenshawe and help improve the area."
Lovell regional director Nigel Yates said: "We're proud to be involved in helping deliver this much-needed new affordable housing for Wythenshawe. As we hand over the newly-completed first phase of the development, we would like to wish the residents every happiness in their new homes."
