Leaton Avenue welcomes Active Streets
Leaton Avenue will be temporarily closed to traffic and parking from 11am to 3pm on Monday 24th October 2022. The road will be closed as part of a community event called Active Streets.
Active Streets is an initiative delivered across neighbourhoods in partnership with Manchester City Council & One Manchester.
Active Streets is an opportunity for residents to see their street transformed into a community safety zone. Once closed the road will become a safe pop-up sport and active space where the whole community can take part in a number of activities.
Plus, an officer from the Council’s South Neighbourhood Team, along with partners from Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG) and BIFFA will be on hand to offer Recycling Advice and Energy Saving Tips!
During the hours of 11am and 3pm, we would ask residents to park your cars on your drive or on an alternative road, so that the street can be free of cars during the event. Once closed there will be no access for vehicles other than in an emergency.
