Kevin Oladimeji to compete in the 2024 Pan American Deaf Games
Join us in wishing Kevin Oladimeji, our Multiskill Technician (Plasterer), the best of luck as he prepares to represent the U.S. Soccer Federation’s Men’s Deaf National Team in the 2024 Pan American Deaf Games this week.
Kevin will be flying to sunny Canoas, Brazil to compete in the tournament, taking place on 10th-17th November. He is amongst 23 players selected and will be representing the U.S. team in the qualifying event for the 2025 Deaflympics in Japan.
He shared his excitement, saying: “I’m proud to play for my country. I’m working hard to keep fit and my target is to get a gold medal and qualify for the 2025 Deaflympics in Tokyo.
“I appreciate that the organisation has been supporting me and allowing me to travel with my team in Brazil. I will definitely have a good experience there!”
Kevin was scouted by the U.S. Soccer Federation’s Men’s Deaf National Team after they watched his livestreamed games and gave him a chance to trial in Atlanta. From here, he was added to their roster for the Pan American Deaf Games.
We wish Kevin the utmost best and will be cheering him on from Wythenshawe!
