CX Chat January 2023
Welcome to CX Chat January 2023 where we share insights from the latest WCHG Customer Experience Committee (CXC) meeting. CXC is a place where customers and Group Board members come together to voice their opinions on the subjects that matter to them most. Here are the highlights from the latest session.
New homes
Development Executive Director, Andrea Lowman gave an update on opportunities being developed and new homes being built. Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG) is using government grants to create new homes and there are currently 861 new homes being built, or in development. The CXC welcomed this commitment to providing much-needed homes for local people. The CXC has previously highlighted the need for more bungalows in Wythenshawe and was pleased to see 16 being built. The CXC also committed to reviewing how satisfied people are with their new homes and how customer feedback is used in future design decisions.
Rents and Living Well Fund
In its first year the CXC saw the set-up of a new Living Well Fund. Members heard about some of the grants given to help individuals and community organisations live well through the cost of living crisis. The CXC also considered how WCHG should best respond to rising inflation to protect services and build much needed new homes. They recommended approval to the Board that April's rent increase is capped at 7%. This will apply to all customers, to help them with rising costs and make sure WCHG can continue to provide all its current services, build new homes and continue the Living Well Fund in 2023.
Work of the Scrutiny Group
A group of customers, trained in scrutiny, reported on work they had completed during the year. This included looking in detail at the quality of complaint responses and performance of customer facing services and recommending any changes needed. If you would like to join our Scrutiny Group, get in contact to find out more.
