Managed Migration - what is it?
Are you currently claiming:
- Housing Benefit
- Income related ESA (Employment Support Allowance)
- Income related JSA (Job Seekers Allowance)
- Income Support
- Child Tax Credits
- Or Working Tax Credits?
You will soon be moving to Universal Credit. With Universal Credit, you will get one payment on the same date each month instead of separate benefit payments on different dates. Your household circumstances and income will be considered month by month. You receive your Universal Credit award according to these circumstances.
DWP will write to you when they want you to move. The letter will tell you what you need to do.
You'll have 3 months from the date of the letter to complete your Universal Credit claim. The 3 months is known as Managed Migration. If you do not claim in time, your benefits will end.
We know this change might be confusing, but we can help.
