AB Electrical Supports Local Wythenshawe Boxing Club
One of Wythenshawe Community Housing Group’s electrical contractors has shown their support for the Boxing Club at the Royal Oak Community Centre.
AB Building & Electrical have previously helped the amateur boxing club, on the Royal Oak estate, by supplying branded T-Shirts to the boxers and have now sponsored a fight night in November and presented a branded sign to the side of the centre demonstrating the partnership.
Manager of the Royal Oak Centre Gina Hall said, “We would like to thank AB Electrical and Wythenshawe Community Housing Group for all their help and support over the years. The Boxing Club continues to go from strength to strength and is very popular with local people of all ages who want to keep fit and learn a new skill. It couldn’t exist without the help we receive from all our volunteers and partners, so on behalf of everyone at the centre thank you very much”.
Director of AB Building & Electrical Antony Batterton said, “We had no hesitation in showing our support for The Royal Oak Boxing Club and it is great to see the club growing and being an important part of the local community. As a local contractor working in the area it’s very important to us to engage in positive schemes such as this in the local community”.
Wythenshawe Community Housing Group Chief Executive Nigel Wilson said, “It’s great to see AB Building & Electrical supporting the Boxing Club at the Royal Oak Centre, as it is initiatives such as this that help support the Group’s vision to create a community where people choose to live and work”.
The boxing club offers training sessions for both juniors and seniors, four evenings a week and has been going from strength to strength since it began in January 2012. All coaches hold current CRB and First Aid Certificates and the club is already proving very popular with local people of all ages, who want to keep fit and learn a new skill.
